All students should complete the Fused Outline on page 65, following it with writing the Rough Draft paragraph for The Battle of Hastings. All needed instructions are included in the lesson and were explained in class today.
Remember, the Rough Draft does not get the Checklist attached, but students still should use it as a guide to include the needed elements in the paragraph. Also, students should notate in the right margin of the paper the abbreviations for the elements at the end of the line which includes them, while also underlining the particular element.
All drafts of written work should be appropriately spaced for corrections to be easily notated within the paper.
All students should bring their small binder of Polished Copies to class this Tuesday for a GRADE. It should contain 3 Polished Copied: The Hagia Sophia, Augustine, and Mohammed.
Words in right circumstances are like apples of gold in settings of silver! Proverbs 25:11

Charlegmagne Final Draft
Students should now take their Rough Drafts from the paragraphs done on Charlemagne in Lessons 6 and 7 to create the Final Draft paper. Level A students are not required to do the 2nd paragraph, but Level B students are to include all 3 paragraphs.
Be sure you have included all the elements on the checklist, followed the instructions on the checklist, and attached a copy of the Final Checklist from on page 51. This is due this Friday.
Additionally, any students who did not complete the homework that was due today from the last blog post should also have that assignment to show me on Friday.

For Tuesday, October 25
Attn: Class and Parents - The following assignment was mis-posted Friday under the Algebra blog - definitely my bad. However, this very assignment was also written on the board in class on Friday and clearly verbally communicated as well. Thank you to the Heape family for calling me this afternoon to let me know of the posting error. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Lesson 8
Everyone should complete their rough draft of paragraph A for the Vikings, pages 56-57, if you did not already do that. This was classwork and is not part of your official homework assignment, so this applies to only those who did not finish it in class!
Your homework is to do the paragraph B for the Vikings, pages 58-59. Follow the exact same procedure we used in class for paragraph A, and the instructions are at the beginning of the lesson if you need reminding what to do!
Remember to incorporate the 2 different structures of sentences learned for this lesson, found on page 54.
Use the rough draft checklists on the text pages to be sure you have included the needed elements in your paragraphs; follow the checklist instructions.

Lesson 6
All level B students should have completed part 2 of lesson 6 in class today. If you did not complete the rough draft of this part of the report, finish it before moving to report part 3 on pages 46-47.
All students should complete the outline and the rough draft of pages 46-47. Remember to use the checklists at the end of each outline to be sure you have included the required elements. Underline the elements and notate them in the right hand margin across from the line in which the element appears. (Likewise, level A students should have already completed to the same degree the part 1 of this lesson found on pages 42-43. If they have not, then that would come first.)
Everyone should cut out and study their lesson 3 vocabulary cards as well if you have not yet done that.
Take your time and be thoughtful about your choices of words. Your writing will only be as good as the amount of care and effort you put into thinking about what you wish to communicate and with what words you want to say it! Have fun with it; others will enjoy reading what you have to share about what you are learning from the history of the Middle Ages!

Polish the Augustine Paper
Polish your paper about Augustine, the Archbishop of Canterbury! Place it in your small collection binder.
Remember, this copy will have no additional notes or marking or checklists attached. It's a clean, polished copy.
These copies will be taken up in your small binder at the end of the quarter for a separate grade. If at that point you have missing papers from this binder, your grade will be affected.
Make sure that all your ongoing work returns with you to class in your normal binders next week.

Vocab. Test and Mohammed Drafts
Complete your vocabulary test and bring to class on Friday.
Level A - Have you finished the Rough Drafts of paragraphs I and III? If yes, then write your Final Drafts. If no, then complete your Rough Drafts of them to turn in on Friday.
Level B - Have you finished all 3 paragraphs on Mohammed as a Rough Draft? If no, then complete these Rough Drafts. If yes, then move forward writing your Final Drafts of these paragraphs.
If anyone happened to complete or nearly complete their Rough Drafts today, but I was unable to critique them in class for you due to lack of time, PARENTS ARE ALLOWED AND MOST LIKELY ADEQUATE TO DO SO. If you prefer me to provide that critique, you may opt to email me the Rough Draft for me to go ahead and critique tomorrow, allowing students to then proceed to the Final Draft writing on Thursday. It is difficult to provide adequate critique to each and every student in the span of 1 hour of class time.
Everyone remember that your Final Drafts should have the Final Checklist attached to the back, but Final Drafts do NOT have the various word elements highlighted and notated in the margin of the paper like the Rough Draft should.
