Battle of Hastings Final Draft

I.
   A)  Students (parents this is a great place to lend your aid!) should read back through their paragraph, notating on their Rough Draft where changes for improvement could be made.  (It is often after letting a written work rest that we have new eyes to see how it can be further improved.  Class time was spent today modeling how to put ideas together to write good sentences in logical order from the key word outlines.)

   B) Then, write the Final Draft, using the Final Checklist, page 67, as a guide.

   C) Attach a copy of page 67 to the copy of the Final Draft upon completion to turn in this Friday.

II.  Study all vocabulary words through Lesson 9.  Level B students are required to also know the similar words, and that is optional for Level A students.  We will have a vocabulary quiz in class on Friday that will in the same format as the prior quiz.

III. Lastly, Level B students should locate a source for a third topic about the Vikings.  They should pick a topic about which they wish to write for the third paragraph on the Vikings, page 60.  They should then proceed to write their OUTLINE for this paragraph, using the same procedure which they followed in the book for the first two paragraphs.
